Alternative Medicine and Disease Prevention
by dyane hipson - Tuesday, 22 January 2008, 07:27 PM
Anyone in the world
By Bryan Brodeur Alternative Medicine Acupuncture, Chiropractic Care, and Massage Therapy are available to every member of our society. Each of these therapies have been proven to improve our life and our health. Yet, very few of us have ever undertaken a serious course of Alternative Medicine, let alone a regular course of each. They can be a beneficial, and relatively inexpensive, adjunct in your pursuit of excellent health. The key to understanding and using these alternative medicines properly is to understand that they are preventative of disease, and contributive to energy. Thinking of these therapies the same way that you think of mainstream medicine will only give you the results that mainstream medicine has. Whether you have or haven't explored these areas, you will definitely need a professional opinion in terms of how to properly access these alternative fields of medicine and how to receive the most benefit to your health. Each one of these disciplines carries an important means in addressing the currents which control our health. Discovering which to use, when to use them, and how to use them, is a step by step process. The empowering effects of these healing arts are criticized and unduly insulted in medical offices to this day. Unfortunately, these critical physicians are often not familiar with the annals of research in the other fields. It is sad that the 'real' doctor of today is educated entirely by the pharmaceutical industry, and would prescribe dangerous drugs before exploring the power of these emerging arts. Even more unfortunately, this leaves the patient without any authoritative guidance as to how to explore the world of Alternative Medicine. As we consider different health issues, we should also consider which of these alternative care disciplines you should enlist to assist you. Research thoroughly how to select an alternative care doctor and how to receive as much assistance as you can without affecting your pocket book. These disciplines are, in many cases, not any more expensive than mainstream efforts to achieve a health goal . Explore what you feel you'd prefer to avoid in the alternative health field, what you'd be comfortable with accepting, and how to find a medical doctor who is educated well in alternative medicines. Disease Prevention Disease Prevention is a popular phrase and a poorly followed principle. The problem we have, as a society, with the concept of disease prevention is that there is nothing exciting about it. If you consider eating healthy and living right only as a means to prevent disease, you'll never be excited enough to follow it up properly. The only people who become excited about preventing disease are usually people who already have a disease. The most effective manner of motivating yourself towards healthy living is to understand how it will bring you closer to a stronger, more energetic person than the one you are today. Using prevention only to prevent disease is both dull and pessimistic. Using the tools you've associated with prevention to bring you more strength and vitality can make it exciting and can show you new pleasures in life. If you can fathom that the same lifestyle you had when you were young is attainable now, this might make the alternative principles of disease prevention a little more interesting to you. What is important to understand is that alternative principles, such as Vitalism, are a source of rejuvenation, can restore energy, and can even bring energy to a person who has never had strong energy levels. These principles, often associated with helping eliminate or reduce disease prevention, should be followed until an individual has achieved an ideal state of health in their life. Amazon Fruits - Taste the Flavor of South America
by dyane hipson - Monday, 21 January 2008, 01:00 AM
Anyone in the world
By Kat Lively If you have the opportunity to travel to the Amazon region of South America, you must take advantage of the exotic, amazing cuisine indigenous to the area. Amazon fruits, in particular, are especially delicious when served fresh or incorporated in a variety of meals and desserts. If you thought these tropical areas were all bananas and mangoes, you will be pleasantly surprised. Many of these fruits are available only in South America, unless one can find imports at specialty shops. Before you go shopping, however, be sure to know which fruit is which, how they are served and how you can enjoy them. Here is just a small sampling of what awaits you in the glorious Amazon region: Pupunha: this is a small, conical shaped fruit that ranges from yellow to reddish orange in color. Pupunha grows on tall palm trees and contains a single, large seed within its edible pulp - very much like a peach. This fruit is rich in Vitamins A and C, and may be cooked or eaten raw. Tucum: on the outset, this fruit may resemble a persimmon in size and color, which varies from yellow to dark red-orange. Like persimmons, the fruit's flesh is thin, but the flavor is quite unique. Tucum contains a great amount of Vitamin A, more than the average avocado. Pitomba: this tangy fruit is popular in area farmer's markets and known for its golden pulp and tart flavor. Pitomba is traditionally used to make jams and jellies, and the flavor is also used in popular soft drinks in the region. Cupuau: this fruit bears a similar look to the kiwi with its brown, fuzzy exterior, but in actuality it is closer to cacao in flavor. In fact, cupuau is often used as a substitute for cocoa in local recipes. Cupuau is used primarily in dessert and other sweet items. Aa: this may be the best known of the Amazon region fruits, as there is a visibility for acai in America. Aa is a small, purple berry found on rainforest palm trees, and the pulp and juice are used for a variety of purposes. Look around Brazil and you will find Aa juice drinks, soft drinks, protein bars, candy and entrees topped with the pulp. It is not recommended to eat the berries straight from the tree, but when enjoyed Aa provides the body with vitamins and antioxidants. From the healthful properties of Aa to the sweetness of Cupuau, South America offers visitors an array of exotic fruits to enjoy. Try some on your next trip. Ex-Girlfriends
by dyane hipson - Sunday, 20 January 2008, 01:31 AM

By Ken Marlborough Like every intimate-or-otherwise relationship in life, a relationship with a girlfriend can sometimes break up. Once the breakup occurs, the girlfriend is termed ex-girlfriend. Depending on the level of intimacy between the two adults, breaking up can be traumatic. To a younger mind, a breakup with a girlfriend is often seen to be more devastating than circumstances warrant, but the feeling that one has lost a dear friend is common at any age. The reasons for a relationship breakup leading to an ex-girlfriend situation vary from a sudden shifting of residence to simply growing up. For example, a boy and girl of 12 may not necessarily share the same comfort levels and interests at age 21. The reasons for a breakup vary differently in adult relations. A common reason for a brutal breakup is singular and isolated incidents concerning both or one of the two in the relationship. Sometimes the reasons depend on various factors like levels of intimacy, concepts, principles and general compatibility. There are also various degrees of separation and breakup. In some cases, people move on with their lives after a breakup and their attitude towards their ex-girlfriends is cordial and pleasant. However, what a person feels or does about his girlfriend after a breakup depends mostly on the reasons for the breakup. Ex-girlfriends are often termed to be trouble, and many existing relationships are broken due to an ex-girlfriend suddenly coming to life in a man's world. Then there are even the on-off relationships, which hinge desperately on one phone call, e-mail, chance meeting at the mall or even party invitations by common friends. Sometimes, there can be dangerous repercussions of broken relationships on both sides. Drug and alcohol dependency, stalking, and loss of profession are commonly sparked off by a breakup. Girlfriends provides detailed information about girlfriends, finding girlfriends, gifts for girlfriends, and more. Girlfriends is affiliated with Relationships. Beauty On A Budget
by dyane hipson - Saturday, 19 January 2008, 02:21 AM
Anyone in the world
By Kevin Pederson A well groomed gal is always a head-turner anywhere in an office, at a party, on the streets. She does not have be drop-dead-stunning or be clad in designer outfits to have the look. A chic woman is able to radiate her own personality by the way she dresses and colors she wears. Best of all, all this can be achieved on a reasonable budget. Here are a few tips from real-life divas, all home makers by choice. Their hints and guidelines on good grooming could very well be of assistance to those apprehensive readers who wonder about the costs involved in good-looking. Beauty, they say, lies in the eyes of the beholder. However, you will have to work at looking great and remaining beautiful forever. Here we have compiled a couple of beauty tips which, we are sure, will help you achieve a smooth and glowing skin and hair and look young and beautiful forever. Natural cures, homemade products and home remedies 1. Prepare a lotion of 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 1 tsp glycerin, 3 tsp rose water. Mix and apply this lotion all over the body and let it remain for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water. 2. Make a paste of 1 tsp lemon juice, cup yogurt and 1 tsp orange juice. Apply this on your face and neck and let it remain for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water. 3. Mask for dry skin. It is known to work wonders. Beat 1 egg and frothy, add 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp glycerin, 1 tsp mineral oil. Apply the mask on your face and other dry areas of the body. Keep it for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water. 4. Protein pack for your face. Soak 1 tsp black gram dal and 4 almonds in water overnight. Grind them to a paste in the morning and apply this mask to your face. Wash it off after around half an hour. 5. Face mask Mix 2 teaspoons rice powder with 4 tsp teaspoons water and 1 teaspoon honey. Apply this pack to the face then wash it off after half an hour with tepid water. Natural, homemade beauty hair products A lot of young ladies struggle with their hair. However, there is good news some beauty recipes can help you restore and rejuvenate your hair leaving it softer and shinier than ever. In case you swim in chlorinated water on a regular basis, the same damage you've noticed happening to your skin and bathing suit, is happening to your hair too. 1. Mix 1 tablespoon honey and any vegetable oil. Spread the mixture evenly inside and all over your hair. 2. Coat your hair with mayonnaise. Once you are done cover your head with a plastic bag and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. 3. Apply olive oil all over your hair and cover it with a plastic shower cap and let it remain for around 20 minutes. For extra conditioning have a warm shower while you wait; the heat will help the oil work to its maximum potential. 4. Beat 1 egg, add 3 tablespoons of water and apply the mixture to your scalp and hair. 5. Mix 1/2 cup honey and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on 30 minutes. Shampoo well and rinse. 6. Beat 1 egg white until it is foamy, then add to 6 tablespoons natural yogurt and apply the mixture to your hair in small portions at a time. Leave it on for around15 minutes and then rinse. 7. Mix 2 whole eggs with 4 tbsps olive oil. Smooth tit through your hair, wrap your head in a plastic wrap, and leave it on around for 10 minutes, then rinse well. This applies to all the above solutions: Once you are done waiting for the natural ingredients to work their magic wash, rinse, and style your hair as usual. Beauty hair styles You might not be able to visit an expensive salon. Then again you could always take advantage of these styling tips. 1. To create Soft Waves, blow dry your hair straight. Spray bottled water on your hair with a pressurized spray bottle and let your hair dry naturally. See the wavy look you get. 2. Here is a quick wavy look tip. Part your hair on the sides and braid the pieces that frame your face loosely. For a few minutes, blow dry these pieces and let your hair cool down before unbraiding it. See the results - your hair will be straight at the top and wavy at the bottom. 3. Here is another quick Wavy Look Tip. Part your hair into 1-inch sections, roll them up into pin curls and hold them together with hair clips or bobby pins. Wear your shower cap on and get into the shower.; the steam will set your hair as you shower. Take away the cap afterwards. Remove the clips from your hair and shake your now wavy hair out. 4. Here is an elegant up do tip. Tease your hair lightly at the top then pull it into a French Twist. This will create more fullness. 5. Here is another elegant up do tip. Add a couple drops of shine serum product before twisting your hair into place to give it a polished look. Cheapest Cell Phone Service & Plans: Pre Paid or Monthly?
by dyane hipson - Wednesday, 16 January 2008, 01:49 AM
Anyone in the world

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Daymon_Hoag]Daymon Hoag There is more to getting the cheapest cell phone service for
your unique situation than just price. When usage comes into
play you'll find that getting the right cell phone plan will
also provide you with the most cost effective solution to
your cellular calling needs. So what are your options? Before exploring your options in cellular service, you'll
want to know the differences between pre paid cell phone
plans, pay as you go, and monthly cellular service plans.
Most people are fairly familiar with the differences between
monthly and pre paid, but the difference in pre paid and pay
as you go cell phone plans aren't always so clear. First up is pay as you go cell phone service. With a pay as
you go cell phone plan you only pay for the minutes you want
to use up front. There is no reoccurring monthly charge, or
contract and some pay as you go cell phone companies allow
you up to 90 days before you will need to recharge your
minutes. You can almost think of pay as you go like a
calling card but for use with a cell phone. With pre paid cell phone service you still have a set amount
of minutes but are usually billed for the same amount
monthly. You cannot go over your monthly minutes so your
bill is always the same. Also with some prepaid cell phone
companies you'll enjoy extras like mobile to mobile and even
free nights and weekends. Monthly cell phone plans usually come with more minutes than
pre paid or pay as you go and also provides the flexibility
of being able to go over your monthly minutes without having
to recharge, and they will just bill you for the extra
minutes later. You'll need good credit in order to get a
monthly cellular plan. Now that we understand the major differences between pay as
you go, pre paid, and monthly cell phone service, it makes
it much more clear which of these mobile calling plans are
cheapest. It should also be clear by now that while price is
still important, it certainly isn't the most important
factor in selecting a wireless phone service plan. So which mobile wireless plan is best for you? If you will
not be using your cell phone very often, or mostly for
emergencies, a pay as you go cell phone plan is just the
ticket. As mentioned before, its like having a calling card,
but you won't have to hunt down a pay phone or good
Samaritan to make your call. Plus you only need to recharge
your minutes about once every 90 days. Do you have kids at home or in college? Maybe you are on a
tight budget. If this sounds like your situation, a pre paid
plan would be best for you. If you get a pre paid plan with
mobile to mobile, and nights and weekends, your kids and
college students can always call you for no charge, and your
monthly bill will always be the same. Of course there are those people who just love their cell phones, and also those who find it best to have a cell phone
to replace their landline phone service. If this is you, a
monthly cell phone plan would be great providing you can
pass the credit check or pay a sometimes fairly hefty
deposit. Get a monthly cellular plan from the right company
and you may even get your cell phone for free. So if you're shopping for the cheapest cell phone service,
don't just look at price. The key to getting the best
cellular plan for your situation is to look at your usage
and calling habits first to decide on what kind of plan you
need. Always look at price last. After you have decided your
best cell phone plan. Daymon Hoag is the founder of [http://www.cheapest-service.com/]Cheapest Service and provisioner of [http://www.cheapest-service.com/cell-phones/]Cell Phone Service. Love, Relationships and Sacred Love - Fighting Off the Gremlins that Shorten Relationships
by dyane hipson - Tuesday, 15 January 2008, 01:36 AM
Anyone in the world
By Christopher Walker Love is an amazing journey. There are many people who can love really deeply. Often people say to me I love really deeply and so I get hurt a lot but I would like to argue today, that nature disagrees with that assessment. The ability to love cannot be measured in the opportunities to celebrate the good times, the emotional highs or positives. This is the shallowest love. Sometimes the person who claims to hold the deepest love, has the complete opposite because their love, cannot be sustained when things get difficult. The real measure of love, is how resilient it is? Love is life any pleasure. More does not always make you happier. You can make love all the weekend but 30 seconds after you stop one phone call comes in from your ex partner and you go into an emotional spiral. If things like this can send you down, then your love might be called an infatuation. If outside disturbances send you into an emotional spiral, then your love, no matter how passionate is incomplete love. If your love is interrupted by worry or anger, then it is a weak love, a love filled with emotional uppers, balanced by emotional downers. Love is a power. It is the power of sustainability. Love is the laser focus, where you make every moment count. Yes, stuff happens to us, parents die, friends get upset, children disobey and demand, work is stressful and travel exhausting. But love is like a martial art, it is not passive. It does not sit behind your dynamics with people waiting for the air to be clear before it is given priority. Love is the priority on which you live. It is wise to consider this in your relationships. Because the consequence of not prioritising love is disastrous. Love does not imply that other things, other elements of your life do not exist, however, love does imply that the chord that links you, no matter where you are is more important that the emotional attachments you have to other things. I meet people all over the world, who, in the first months of a relationship are gushing and loving, sort of like a lasso they throw out in order to capture their lover. But within a short period of time, distractions draw them away, excuses for not showing up start to trickle into their offering of love. Oh, my mother is upset because I didnt invite her to stay for October. Oh, my father hates me because I like my mother. Oh, my ex might reduce the maintenance payments if we do that. Oh, I cant afford a baby sitter this week. Oh, I am so distressed, I dont like my apartment. Oh, the business is not going well, I am so worried about it. Oh, my back is so sore I need to take anti inflammatory. Oh, I am too tired to trave there. Oh, I dont feel like. Oh, my friend said I was mean to her, but I wasnt. These are what I call, the gremlins. Little warriors of emotions that come to take love and split it into, an undercurrent, sure we love each other, we are both very busy though The gremlins find their way through self important emotional dramas, through the invasion of people who are not relevant, and the gremlins eventually take over. Protecting your relationship from gremlins means protecting your relationship from your outer circle. Your love is a sanctuary, like a holy place, a sacred place and all emotion, whether it be love making or work or worry, must be subordinate to it. Love is sacred. If you treat it so, love is a magnificent place from which to live. But if you are the victim of your emotions, blown here, running there, ups and downs, over and ups, your love will no longer be a priority, and over a short period of time, will turn to tatters. Pleasure is the bandaid the uninitiated use to repair love that is filled with gremlins, sexuality with a fancy negligee, but such weapons against gremlins fails. To feed the hungry gremlins means to feed drama. There will never be enough pleasure to make the gremlin happy. After a week on a wonderful romantic honeymoon, one phone call, one piece of information can wipe all the happiness out, and turn the moment to a disaster. You can swim in a five star swimming pool and have luxury treatments in a spa, but one molecule of news can wipe it all. For those whose commitment to love is weak, the cracks of self importance through which the gremlins creep are wide open. The gremlins that kill relationships, rarely come from within the relationship. Two lovers may find the space and love that is truly sacred. But then ex partners, families, money issues, work, health, ambitions, greed, jealousy, friends jealousy, kids, and more start to creep in. They are the enemy. The gremlins. You must be at war with those gremlins. You must know they are like a cancer that so quickly erodes the beauty and integrity of sacred love. To live in sacred relationship we must learn mind control. Learn to master our reactions to emotional triggers. The self indulgent person is deluded in thinking the pleasure will last without mind control. They lack it. They are the victim, disempowered, seeking peaceful places because they do not have the mind power to create peace within. These emotionally frail individuals blame the world for their lack of mind control. They blow like the wind, moody, reactive. Such a person cannot sustain sacred love. Mind control comes with the understanding of the Universal Laws of nature. Prioritise love. Prioritise love. Beyond love making, prioritise love, the sanctuary between you where no other news, no other soul, no noise, no disturbance, no problem or person can invade. Hold this space sacred, never release it. 24/7 this is the space where two lovers work, live and play. Sacred love can be so strong that there is no need to worship Gods and Goddess in temples or places of religion, love is god, and god is love, sacred love is that home and it exists in the heart of two warriors. To people who are ready to work for what they believe is possible. Sacred Love. Chris Walker is a world leading change agent, an environmentalist and author of more than 20 books. Born and bred in Australia, he consults to people and organisations throughout the world on improved relationships, health and lifestyle through the application of the Universal laws of Nature. The result he offers is that we stay balanced, share loving relationships, work with passion, enjoy success, and live our personal truth. Sexual Abuse Implants Lies
by dyane hipson - Monday, 14 January 2008, 03:54 AM
Anyone in the world
By Bruce Ewart Of all the horrid ramifications of child abuse and neglect, the beliefs formed by the child about himself or herself reap the greatest destruction. Abuse is the most penetrating and permanent communication possible, and it always conveys to the child one or more of several messages: 1. I caused it to happen. 2. Its my fault. 3. I do not deserve any better. These are some of many penetrating views strongly asserted by a new author. Dr. Heyward Ewart points out that the most frequent maltreatment of female children by far is sexual abuse. Whether the victim is very young or a teenager, she takes deep within herself all three messages above and develops a loathing that is all-consuming. The girl concludes that there is indeed something horrible and detestable within her that caused the older person to perform such an act upon her. She knows little else but this: She is the one to blame. A child molested early in life will be repeatedly drawn to the subject of sex, so much so that a seductive quality will seem to exude from the person until, if ever, the puzzle is put together. In addition, the victim will reflect a woundedness that is easily spotted by a predator. Because child molesters, as well as rapists, are predators, they have a capacity beyond normal to recognize easy prey. Just as a hawk will circle above until it finds a wounded animal and then suddenly sweep in for the kill, a human predator acts in much the same way. This almost paranormal ability of human predators, combined with the woundedness of the victim, explains why, in so many cases, a child once molested will be molested again, and a woman once raped, will be raped again. Thus the commonly known fact that a raped girl or woman is seven times more likely to be raped again. When she cannot stand the suffering anymore in an abusive relationship, or when there is intervention by a protective-services agency, she may be able to break the relationship, although the partner will continue to pursue her. But if she does sever the tie, she will then go on to settle for another relationship which is worse than the first. Such is the case because the first confirmed what she thought she knew: that she deserved the treatment she received. Because domestic violence shelters often provide mainly protection and little effective therapy, their clientele nearly always return to the same man or find a more abusive one. The second relationship further confirms the original message, and therefore leads to still another arrangement with more severe punishment, and on and on. Group therapy with other victims can lead to becoming a survivor; that is, an empowered adult. The group leader, however, must be experienced in the pervading ramifications of abuse. This field is sadly a rare specialty. Dr. Heyward Bruce Ewart is an author and presenter on violence issues, including child, domestic, workplace, and school. He has over 20 years of experience in treating victims of abuse. On his site, he offers free professional tools for detecting possibly violence people and for identifying concealed child abuse. The child abuse test enables the young victim to answer truthfully even under fierce intimidtion. http://www.child-to-adult-victim.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Bruce_Ewart http://EzineArticles.com/?Sexual-Abuse-Implants-Lies&id=346483 zopidem diazepam purchase online with discover card valium with no prescription mail order valium arrest defense diazepam online without a prescription
Ashwagandha and Health Solutions with Ashwagandha
by dyane hipson - Thursday, 10 January 2008, 03:41 AM
Anyone in the world
By Dr John Anne Also known as Winter Cherry and Indian Ginseng, Ashwagandha is one of the most valuable herbs in the Ayurvedic medical system, dating back more than 3,000 years. Its Sanskrit name Ashwagandha literally means that which has the smell of a horse, so named because it is said to give the strength and vitality of a horse. Ashwagandha is specific for a wide range of conditions including arthritic inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, respiratory disorders, nervous disorders, gynecological disorders, male infertility and impotence. It is a herb that enhances resistance to stress, increases stamina and promotes general well-being. Many Western herbalists refer to this herb as "Ayurvedic ginseng" because of its reputation for increasing energy, strength, and stamina, and for its ability to relieve stress. Modern research has found several types of alkaloids in it of which somniferin and withaniol are responsible for its multiple actions. The roots of the plant have been reported to have Alkaloids, Withanolides and many Glycosides. According to the Ayurvedic system, Ashwagandha is the best herb for balancing Vata in the body. Vata governs all movement in the body, including the movement of nerve impulses throughout the nervous system. When the root is taken as a milk decoction and sweetened with honey or raw sugar, it is used to inhibit ageing and build up strength by catalysing the anabolic processes in the body. Ashwagandha is also a proven immune-modulator, antioxidant and hormone precursor which tends to regulate important physiological functions. Research has shown that it can protect the activity of immune cells that are exposed to chemicals that would otherwise inhibit their normal function. The antitumor activity of Withania somnifera is known and that it also enhances the effects of radiation in chemotherapy Ashwagandha for Sexual Debility: Ashwagandha has an affinity for the reproductive system in both men and women. It is the main rejuvenative of masculine energy used in Ayurveda, improving the quality of reproductive tissues and increasing sexual potency. It has also been used to increase libido and potency, for it is said to bestow upon its user the vitality and strength of a horse. It is often added in herbal supplements that are reputed to improve sexual desire and function. Ashwagandha has also been helping women boost their desire for sex. Long considered India's most potent sex-enhancing plant, the country's women have used Ashwagandha for years to rev up their sex drives Ashwagandha For Stress: Ashwagandha is considered as one of the best remedies for stress. While most adaptogens primarily work by helping the body to mobilize and maintain the physiological response to stress, Ashwagandha appears to work first and foremost by reducing the stress-related excesses of the alarmed nervous system. It improves the body's ability to maintain physical effort and helps the body adapt to various types of stress. It has also been reported to enhance mental function and memory. It acts to calm the mind and promote sound, restful sleep. Ashwagandha as a Anti-Inflammatory Agent: Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that contains several active phytochemicals known as glycowithanolides, which research has shown may relax smooth muscles. As a natural anti-inflammatory agent, ashwagandha may help to reduce the discomfort associated with arthritis. Forty-two patients with osteoarthritis were randomly placed in two groups--one receiving ashwagandha, one a placebo. After three months, pain and disability were markedly reduced in the ashwagandha group. Ashwagandha for Weak Memory: Ashwagandha is a medhya rasayana, helping to enhance mental ability and performance. It helps support memory and problem-solving skills and enhances the coordinated functioning of all aspects of the brain. It corrects loss of memory arising out of long term stress, illness and overwork. A 2001 study in rodents showed ashwagandha had memory boosting ability. Ashwagandha is also used for High Blood Pressure, as an Immune-Modulator and an AntiOxidant. Overall Ashwagandha is a promising herb in many different fields. Mower Maintenance for a Perfect Lawn
by dyane hipson - Wednesday, 9 January 2008, 12:44 AM
Anyone in the world
By David Chandler Growing and maintaining a lush green lawn takes care and the right equipment. The right lawn mover for your landscape and proper maintenance of your equipment will ensure a nice even lawn. A good lawn mower should cut the grass and not tear or rip it out. The first thing to consider when purchasing a lawn mover is your landscape. Is your lawn on a slope or flat ground? What type of mower can get the job done with the least amount of effort? Another factor is how easy the mower is to maintain for peak performance. If you have to cut grass on a slope, the best type of lawn mower is one with high wheels. This will make it easier to push up a hill, or to move back down the hill with. The second type of lawn mower is a cordless or electric mulching lawn mower. The mulching mower is less messy and mulches your lawn. The third type of lawn mower is a reel lawn mower. Reel lawnmowers are environmental friendly, not contributing to pollution and are easy to use. After deciding on the type of lawn mower to purchase, review the maintenance schedule. A good maintenance program will allow your mower to last for years to come and give your grass a better cut. Every spring, the different parts of the lawnmower should be cleaned or repaired. Spark plugs should be cleaned or replaced for good firing and nuts and bolts should be checked and tightened where necessary. The underside decking should be cleaned throughout the season to remove build up of grass and dirt. Cleaning the grass and dirt will also help in preventing the spread of diseases in grass. In order to clean the deck of the lawnmower, you should first empty the gas tank and make sure that the spark plug is not connected. You can then stand the mower up on its side and spray the mower with water. You can then scrub off the rest of the dirt and grass that is stuck on the mower. Make sure to dry the mower after you have finished rinsing it off, to make sure that none of the parts rust. Your maintenance should also include checking the oil and air filters. The air filters should be cleaned or replaced on a regular basis. Before removing the filter to replace, make sure that you know whether it is paper or foam. The oil in your lawn mower lubricates the engine. Be sure you read the operating instructions on the type and amount of oil your mower uses. Another important part of maintenance is sharpening the blades every one or two months, depending on use. Sharp blades ensure a clean cut rather than ripping out the grass. This can be easily done by removing the blade from the mower and sharpening it with a file. When mowing season is over, there are certain steps to properly store your lawn mower for the winter. It is advisable to remove the oil and gas, and clean the exterior. With consistent and proper care of your lawnmower, you will be able to keep your lawn looking great through the seasons and years, and your mower will last for years too. Lessons for America from Nigeria ? Archbishop Stands Against Homosexuality
by dyane hipson - Tuesday, 8 January 2008, 03:41 AM
Anyone in the world
By Michael Bresciani Can this nation endure or survive its ever growing dance with wholesale immorality while not one nation in history has been able to do it? There is little doubt that we cannot and while few are willing to listen, here is a shining example of one brave man who says we must. Archbishop Peter J. Akinola leader of Nigerias conservative Anglican Church has taken a proactive stand against the proliferation of the gay lifestyle that rivals that of any in the USA. He is openly and vociferously opposed to same-sex unions and acceptance of homosexuality in general. As head of 21 churches in Nigeria he is emerging as the only hope of swaying the larger body of some 77 million Anglicans worldwide to return to their original biblically based position against homosexuality. He has stepped out against the gay agenda even in America much to the chagrin of his churches primates and leaders. In the USA he has appealed to Anglicans by forming a sort of missionary arm of his conservative movement called The Convocation of Anglicans in North America. It may be said that for the first time in American history our immorality and general lifestyle has caused enough concern in foreign nations to send missionaries to help us. Perhaps he is right, and Americans and the church at large can only leave this scathing indictment un-noticed at their own peril. Jesus said I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. Luke 10:21 Bishop Akinolas argument against accepting homosexuality sounds like something a child might say. But in the end it reflects a wisdom that cannot be refuted and if nothing else it appeals to the common sense of every man who has a little bit of conscience left. The New York Times quotes Bishop Akinola on December 25, 2006 as saying, Why didnt God make a lion to be mans companionWhy didnt he make a tree to be mans companion? Or better still, why didnt he make another man to be mans companion? So even from the creation story, you can see that mind of God, Gods intention, is for man and woman to be together. Bishop Akinola also espouses and defends the literal interpretation of the bible. He refuses the Anglicans general admission of diverse theologies into the church. In the biblical sense of the word he is one who is towing the line. Others in his church think that he is off course and should be focusing on the problem of aids and Africas seething poverty. The Bishop must see the connection between wholesale immorality and the dreadful conditions in Africa, this is a biblical view that only a true conservative would espouse. Akinola is among those who believe that handing out condoms and sending over foreign aid to stave off disaster are like sweeping out the cobweb but never doing anything about the spider. To Bishop Akinola the spider is the immorality not the obvious side effects that are concomitant to it. Anglicans are tense here in America and distrustful of those who are trying to re-write their covenants which are the basic tenants of all their church polity. Many are opting to leave the church and seek spiritual repose in a fully conservative setting. This will be a trend that wont end with Anglicans. Christians are separating themselves in every denomination and historical church across the globe because of the rising tide of immorality. One can almost hear that clarion call of the Lord Jesus Christ as he addresses the churches in the last days of timeAnd I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
