Relationship: Keep the Kids Out of It
by gillie hayman - Thursday, 21 February 2008, 12:44 AM
Anyone in the world
By Julia Jones Do not make excuses and keep the kids out of it. Generally it is a tendency of us to make false excuses. Most of the times when we fail to do some work we find excuses and at times blame others for it. Especially with married people it is the children who are the soft targets. Often when you are unable to do some work you find yourself saying I could not do it as I had to help the kids in completing the homework. Or I had no time; my whole day went looking after the kids. There are many such excuses you make targeting the kids for your failure of not completing some or the other work because you forgot or did not want to do it. When your partner wants to be intimate with you and you are not in the mood again it your sweet little kids you get in between to avoid the situation by making the excuse of having to get up early morning to help them complete their homework or prepare special breakfast for them. Do not use little kids as the pawns in your relationship. Whenever you tend to make such excuses targeting the kids you create an ill feeling towards them. If the children are big enough to understand then certainly they are not going to appreciate that. There could be an ill feeling in your partner towards the children ant the children could develop it toward you for getting them in between for no reason. Nobody likes to be blamed without a fault. Ill feelings among each other create a gap between family members there is lack of communication, misunderstanding and bitterness. In the long run it leads to conflicts and serious problems. First and foremost be honest with your partner. When you forget to do some work say it and apologize for it. Your partner is not going to nag you for it. If you were tired say it your partner is considerate and understands it. Rather he will be concerned for you. Next time your mate will be considerate enough to see whether you are busy or not and will not demand unnecessarily. To spend time together make sure that your kids go to bed on time, so that you two can enjoy the company of each other. This will not only make you two happy but also your kids. They will not undergo a tensed atmosphere created by your arguments and conflicts. Generally children undergo a kind of strain in their mind due to the conflicts of the parents which the parents are unable to see or understand. This also creates a negative attitude in them which not good for them since it is their growing age. If children are brought up with ill feelings then it does affect their personality. All of us want our children to grow up as healthy, successful personalities with positive attitude. But often parents do not realize that due to such mistakes they are creating a barrier for their children to build a positive character. Always make it a point whatever the argument or conflict keep the children out of it and try not to quarrel in front of them. Help them develop a positive attitude in life. You learn to speak by speaking, to study by studying, to run by running, to work by working; and just so, you learn to love by loving. All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves. CD and DVD Labeling for the Hobbyist
by gillie hayman - Tuesday, 19 February 2008, 07:40 AM

By Tom Watson There has been some research on the subject of CD and DVD Labeling, done by enthusiasts who burn their own discs. I have heard that some trouble with the disc's performance has occured after applying a label, and one has to wonder why! I have a friend, who labeled some of my CDs, and they played fine. Using a labeling kit, it was simply done, and the CD played with no problems at all. However, further research has led me to understand that when choosing a label for your disc, it should be considered whether to cover the full face of the disc, or, more traditionally cover only the media area. Most problems with the disc's performance occured when the full face of the CD or DVD was covered. My friend's preference is to cover only the media area and briefly identify the disc's contents. There is no need to decorate or customize a label for your own personal use. However, those of you who customize or will design your labels for others to see, or use, should take the precautions necessary, and purchase your labels with the proper specifications in mind. Considering the hub size of the label is most important, as well as the format compatibility of the label with the manufacturer. (i.e. Avery, Memorex, Neato) Also, use a good label applicator, and a good labeling kit. There is some Labeling Software on the market that is very unique and easy to use. Decoding the Nokring
by gillie hayman - Monday, 18 February 2008, 12:08 AM
Anyone in the world
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Philip_Nicosia]Philip Nicosia Todays cell phone user can download practically anything for a ring tone, whether it be a rock and roll song or the sound of cows mooing. A single search on ringtones can generate over a million sitesand in one site, up to 100,000 ringtones. Thats a lot of options. The most popular format for ringtones is the Nokring, also called the RTTTL (ringing tones text transfer language). Basically, it allows users to transfer the ringtone codes through a data cable and a special software. One mouse click and youre done and ready to rock and roll (or moo, whatever the case may be). RTTTL is not the only format that Nokia uses for its phones. Some models are equipped with the Nokia composer, which allows users to type in the music code directly into the phone. The Nokia 3210 model was the first to offer this function. The binary format, on the other hand, lets you code a ringtone using the Smart Messaging function. Essentially, you receive the ringtone as a message, which the phone recognizes and activates. The problem with Composer ringtones is, well, the work involved. Youve got to type, and type it very accurately, or itll come out very, very wrong. The binary format, while more convenient, only works on a small selection of Nokia phones. Only RTTTL offers both absolute convenience and reliability, and it doesnt hurt that the majority of the ringtones are in this format. How do you know if a ringtone is in RTTTL format? There are three specific elements. First, youll see the name of the ringtone followed by a string of characters that represent each note. Duration is indicated by the letter d, while octave is indicated by the letter o and beats per minute (or tempo) is indicated by the letter b. These letters are followed by a number that shows the note. If no modifier is present, then the phone automatically uses the default duration, octave and tempo. Each note is then followed by a comma. Many people say that of all the formats, RTTTL is the most intuitive: the codes make sense, and thus are easier to manipulate to customize a tone. This could be the reason why more people are encouraged to create the ringtones and upload them to sites. RTTTLs variety of ringtones is unparalleledand for those whod rather download ringtones than create them, thats the only thing that matters. Downloading an RTTTL ringtone is also very easy: you just need a couple of tools. First, you need a way to connect the phone to your computer. You can use a data cable, or if you have one of the newer phones with infrared capabilities, you can activate that feature. You will also need a software, such as Nokia Data Suite, Logo Manager or Nokring. These are available on the website, or are sometimes bundled with the phone. Another option is to the many freeware and shareware programs available. Yes, its that easyand once everythings set up, you can automatically download the ringtones. B(ring) it on! From Breakup To Bliss - The Prevalence of Ambivalence
by gillie hayman - Saturday, 16 February 2008, 07:24 PM
Anyone in the world
By Randy Hurlburt I feel moved to write this article because of a dating situation that occurs very frequently but isnt explained by the simple rules of dating found in most books. I will use a case example as an illustration. Henry and Yvonne (not their real names) met online. After a few email conversations they got together for coffee. They hit it off and were soon dating. According to Henry, they were head-over-heels in love, and after six months they got engaged. Then things started to unravel, and Yvonne seemed to grow more distant. Henry wanted to make things better, Yvonne wasnt sure. However, the thought of breaking up with Henry filled her with dread. Henry had always treated her well, though sometimes it seemed like he wanted more than she could give. After a year they broke up, but in a month they were talking again. He wanted to feel love like it had been before, and she didnt want to lose the best thing shed ever had. But still she wasnt sure. One could say that this problem was due to infatuation wearing off, denial and guilt pushing her into accepting the engagement, and then loneliness bringing them back together after the breakup. However, this assessment is based on one significant false premise. It assumes that in-love and not-in-love are black and white concepts, and it assumes that infatuation, if it fades, becomes not-in-love. The truth, unfortunately, lies somewhere in between, and it is necessary to deal with this shades-of-gray complexity if one is to be successful in life and love. Henry and Yvonne both felt very high romantic chemistry at the start, but once infatuation wore off her true level fell to high, while his remained very high. If her feelings of romantic chemistry had fallen to medium or less, then one could say that she had fallen out of love. But in fact her chemistry remains high (though not as high as Henrys). This causes her to feel ambivalent. Maybe she can find someone where the chemistry is stronger, but maybe she cant, at least not in someone who treats her as well as Henry does. So she is stuck. She doesnt know whether to proceed with him or not. She doesnt want to give him false hope, but she doesnt want to lose him either. She doesnt know what to do. This drives him crazy, and he also doesnt know what to do. Her ambivalence fuels his insecurity which in turn causes him to work harder at the relationship which in turn causes her to feel more confined and more like leaving. It is a vicious circle. This, or a variation of it, seems to occur all the time, hence the title of this article The Prevalence of Ambivalence. So whats the solution? First there must be enough emotional maturity to be able to recognize the problem and constructively work on it. In this example Henrys emotional maturity was a little higher than Yvonnes, and enough to try to get a grip on the situation. The partner who feels higher chemistry (Henry) must patiently allow time for the ambivalent partner (Yvonne) to sort out her life goals and decide how (or if) this relationship fits into them. This can be very hard to do. Henry needs to work on his own personal growth to be able to handle it. Yvonne will probably need to date other people as a part of her decision process. Therefore Henry will also need to date other people, but for different reasons (his emotional health and self-protection). (No one should date others out of spite or revenge or an effort to make the other person jealous.) An important part of the solution is to seek advice and support from someone who understands this sort of situation. Friends will often give simplistic views (forget her or move on). This is an ideal opportunity for Henry and Yvonne to get assistance to help them focus on personal growth, which usually means gaining new knowledge about how relationships work. It is also important to gain the ability to apply this new knowledge! My book "Love Is Not A Game (But You Should Know the Odds)" is an excellent source of information about how to measure chemistry and maturity, and how to deal with the issues that arise from an imbalance of these factors. How To Lose Weight But Keep Your Carbs
by gillie hayman - Friday, 15 February 2008, 05:18 PM
Anyone in the world
By Thomas McKoff This no carb and low-carb dieting trend just doesn't suit everyone. While it is successful, the success is usually short lived, and there are a few reasons for this. The first and most important reason is that the person has not made a major lifestyle change. Most people don't stay on low-carb diets forever, and in most cases, to efficiently lose and keep off weight, you must maintain your diet changes indefinitely. The second reason most low carb diets aren't successful in the long term is because they can deplete your glycogen stores, slow down your metabolism, and cause a loss in muscle, also known as muscle atrophy. As your body runs out of carbohydrates to burn for energy, it turns to your glycogen stores, or energy that has been stored up for the muscles to use in times of increased activity. This leads to two problems: fatigue and muscle atrophy. Without those glycogen stores or any carbohydrates to burn for energy, the body becomes fatigued much quicker. You may notice this if you have ever switched to a low carb diet; it is much easier to get tired. Also, because the glycogen was taken from the muscles, there is often a loss in muscle mass which means the body is now burning less calories. The metabolism is slower now, so any excess of calories is more quickly stored as fat. The solution to these problems is simple: do not cut out carbohydrates. I know, I know, it goes against everything you may have heard over the last few years; but trust me, there is a better way than depriving our bodies of that much needed nutrient, a way that keeps us energized, fit, and healthy. Best of all, you can still eat bread, pasta, fruits, and vegetables. Before you get too excited, let me explain. Some carbohydrates are bad for us, and it is these we need to cut out or replace as much as possible, things like: candy, soft drinks, baked goods with sugar, white breads, white rice, and any foods with added sugar. These foods are known as simple carbohydrates and need to be avoided if possible. These foods are generally higher in sugar and lack essential vitamins and nutrients. Fruits are also a simple carbohydrate, but they contain certain vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to us, they just need to be eaten in moderation. Foods such as whole grain breads, brown rice, whole grain pastas, legumes, and vegetables are complex carbohydrates. These foods are digested slower, and usually contain a good amount of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. These are the carbohydrates we need to be loading up on. All it takes is a few little changes to make the lifestyle switch from simple to complex carbohydrates, and trust me, the benefits will be well worth it. If you eat white bread and white rice now, try switching to whole grain breads, rices, and pastas. If you eat a lot of candy and drink a lot of soft drinks, try replacing those empty calories with vegetables high in nutrients. These simple changes can make a world of difference in how you look in feel. You will lose weight and your body will feel better and last longer. You can achieve a lot of success once you learn how to do things properly. I wish you the best of luck on your fitness journey. Register to receive a complimentary ebook as well as membership to my website, both of which will be released on June 5th. The first fifty registrations will receive these as a gift from me. LG Shine - Glitz and Gloss

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Adam_Caitlin]Adam Caitlin Being a part of premium Black Label portfolio, the LG Shine is meant for the fashion conscious world. After the astounding success achieved by earlier Black Label mobile phones like the LG Chocolate, the Korean mobile manufacturing unit goes back to basic with full metallic casing of traditional silver and conventional keys which are much convenient than the tricky touch sensitive ones featured in the LG Chocolate. The LG Shine reaffirms LG's credibility of designing excellence and not just a one phone wonder. The handset otherwise known as LG KE970 got the name shine for obvious reasons. Apart from the highly reflective steel casing, the handset's 262k coloured TFT screen is very cleverly hidden by mirror effect. The use of LG Shine as a mirror for a quick hairdo or make-up check can not be ruled out! Thankfully, this immaculately designed mobile phone is packed with much more features, tools and applications than any other fashion solutions from LG. Presently there are three LG Shine LG KE970, LG KE770 and LG KU970. Among them, the LG KE770 is of candy bar form, while the remaining two are sliders. The main difference between these two LG Shine sliders is that the KU970 features HSDPA whereas the LG KE970 the handset in review offers 2.5G EDGE with microSD expansion slot. Looks apart, LG shine also offers enhanced functionalities ranging from connectivity to mobile entertainment. The handset comes with good imaging experience, sound quality and smooth connectivity. Empowered with a 2.0 megapixel digital camera module with auto focus, flash and zoom, a media player compatible with multiple audio and video format the LG Shine is your ultimate companion. There are also host of connectivity tools to surf, email, chat and download. With an internal memory pool of 50 Mb and external memory card support, the LG Shine could be turned into a massive storehouse of your digital files. The Train Is Coming
by gillie hayman - Wednesday, 13 February 2008, 07:19 AM
Anyone in the world
By Yvonne Chase There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 Stay on the platformthe train is coming! This is what a young lady said to me earlier today as we conversed while riding the train. As we talked about relationships, she expressed the fact that she had given up. This conversation was very similar to one I had the night before with another sister who also had given up. Both ladies had become discouraged and given up all hope of ever having a loving lasting relationship based on their past experiences and unpromising statistics. I agreed with both that they should give up, but remain steadfastly on the platform. I advised them that when they give up it should only be in a spirit of letting go and allowing God to send the divinely ordained mate that He has prepared. I encouraged them to resist giving in to bitterness, anger, or resentment. I intimated that if they dont stay on the platform, they will miss their train when it pulls into the station. So, how do you stay on the platform? What do you do while you wait? Read. Most times as Im waiting for the train, I have a good book with me to read and keep me company. As you wait for your train to come in, why not pick up a few books on relationships or self-improvement. Learn how relationships work. Get clarity on who you are and what you want in a relationship. Be clear about the type of relationship you are seeking. Learn what makes men tick and what ticks them off. Knowledge is power! A few good books to pick up are: The Five Love Languages How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to your Mate by Gary Chapman A Fine Romance - The Passage of Courtship from Meeting to Marriage by Judith Sills Intellectual Foreplay Questions for Lovers and Lovers to Be by Eve Eschner Hogan with Steve Hogan. Knight in Shining Armor Discovering your Lifelong Love by P.B. Wilson Travel Lightly. Too much baggage will over-burden you and there might not be any room for you when the train pulls into the station. Have you dropped the baggage of your last relationship? What about the one before that? I dont know where you live, but the trains in NYC are crowded with lots of women waiting. Preparation + Positioning = Perfection. You can wait confidently because you know that if you are in the right station, on the right platform at the right time, your train will come, however; if you are unsure of your station, platform and time, you might miss your train and fail to reach your destination. The station refers to your season in life. If you are in the season of preparation, no matter how hard you pray for a man, hes not going to show up because it is not your season to be in a relationship. Delay is not denial. Sometimes we panic when it appears that the train is late. We fear that weve missed it or that another one wont come for a long time. Have faith! The train is coming. They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31 YOUR DIVINE MATE IS SEEKING YOU AND YOU CAN ONLY MEET DIVINELY Noted author Iyanla Vanzant states, Your divine mate already exists. You are being prepared to meet one another. Through your many growth experiences, and the purpose that is etched in your soul, the day will come when you will meet face-to-face. It will be crystal clear that this person is the right one. She will not need fixing. He will not require work. You will be touched in a place in your heart and soul that, until that divine day, has been untouched. As you allow yourself to accept the reality that your divine mate exists, it will unfold as a reality to you. You can stop looking, forcing and trying to make it happen. You need not fret or worry or allow yourself to be lonely, because your divine mate already exists. You can stop looking out for him or her. Instead, spend your time looking within. When you get to the place in yourself that is peaceful divine love, your mate will be revealed. Where To Find Ethnic Food Recipes
by gillie hayman - Monday, 11 February 2008, 09:08 PM
Anyone in the world
By Andrew Krause Most home cooks at some time or another find themselves getting interested in ethnic cuisine. The impetus might come from their heritage maybe grandma was a German immigrant or grandpa came from Vietnam. Or it could just be simple cook's curiosity. All of us get tired of cooking the same old recipes over and over, and decide to move beyond, frequently into ethnic food recipes. However, and this is especially important if you don't already know anything about the particular cuisine you're after, it can be hard to figure out if the recipes you're cooking are authentic, or are even worth trying. You might pick an Asian recipe that sends you out hunting exotic ingredients for three days only to find that either the recipe was written poorly or the flavor is something you just can't stomach. Unless you want to sink a lot of money into cookbooks, your best source of recipe information is going to be the Internet. However, searching for Internet recipes can be fraught with peril. How do you know this recipe will work? Do you have any clue what it tastes like? Do you maybe have a picture of what the finished dish should look like? This is where sites that allow user reviews of recipes are invaluable. We foodies are a verbose bunch, forever ready to share good recipes and tips and warn others away from the bad ones. On sites such as Allrecipes or Cooks.com, you'll find ethnic food recipes with hundreds of reviews from users. Often, these reviews will include possible ingredient substitutions, problems inherent in the preparation and possible solutions and all sorts of other great information. It's very similar to having a kitchen full of cooks ready to teach and advise you at all times. While you might not want to trust just one or two reviews, you can feel fairly safe when you see certain ethnic food recipes have been cooked successfully by dozens of people. Pick the recipe, read the comments and forge ahead! Are You Doing These Things for Your Dry, Aging Hands?
by gillie hayman - Sunday, 10 February 2008, 07:44 PM

By Louise Forrest Hand care begins with nutrients, removal of toxins, and an infusion of moisture. If you are eating good, organic food and drinking plenty of water, doing regular hand massages will increase circulation which will increase the nutrients to you skin cells and will and aids in the removal of toxins. Increased internal moisture is also a great benefit that your skin will get through a healthy diet, fluid intake, and regular hand massage. You can examine and change your diet and fluid intake, and see a manicurist regularly to achieve these benefits or you can learn to pamper your hands at home. I do have to tell you that the good side to home massage is that you spend less money, but the bad side is that you do not receive the same relaxation that you would by visiting a manicurist. If you want beautiful hands and nails from home, check out our sections on diet to learn more about what you should be eating to achieve healthy skin, drink your water, and do the following massage at least once per week. In order to do a proper hand massage, you will want a lotion or oil that can be warmed. Many times, you will find that warming in the microwave will work, but you should be very careful using this method. The emollient (lotion or oil) can get very hot very quickly in the microwave. It is better to find a product that is packaged in individual packets which are designed to be placed in a bowl of hot water to warm them. You can often find these for hair care and they are fine to use for your hand massage. You will need a mild cleanser, a kitchen sink full of warm water, a hand towel (you will get oil or lotion on this so do not choose that hand-embroidered towel that has been passed through generations), and the above-mentioned emollient that you can warm. The water in your sink should be fairly warm but not hot. You want to help soften your skin to prepare it for the massage, but you do not want to strip natural oils from your skin. Make sure that you are wearing an older, short-sleeved shirt or that you can roll (or otherwise fix) your sleeves up to your elbow. First, rest both hands in the sink, making sure that the water is high enough to reach at least half way up your forearm. Let them soak until they begin to feel relaxed. You may choose to do the massage as part of a bath, which makes it easier to soak your hand and forearms comfortably. Second, smooth the warm oil (or warm lotion) all over both hands and forearms from the elbow to the tips of your nails, getting between each finger and along each nail. Begin to massage by using your thumb to gently rub small circles along the opposite arm, starting at the elbow. If you thumb cannot comfortably massage a portion of the arm, use the fingertips. Work you way down the forearm, massaging both the inside and outside of the forearm. Once you have massaged the entire arm, you should be at your wrist. Using your thumb, give this area some extra care and massage time. Wrists are often inflamed and may be sore due to repetitive motions due to work. This inflammation can slow the circulation to your hands, which is why you want to spend some extra massage time here. Massage both the inner and outer wrist in tiny circles. Resting the back of your hand (being massaged) on the fingers of the other hand, place your thumb in the palm. You will feel plenty of muscle in this area and will probably feel quite a bit of tension in these muscles. Massage tiny circles over each muscle, relieving the tension in them. If a muscle feels particularly tight, massage it until it begins to loosen. Once your palm muscles are fairly limber, you are ready to move to the fingers and thumb. Begin at the base of your pinky (smallest) finger with your massaging fingertips on the back and your massaging thumb on the palm-side of the finger. Rub small circles with both your thumb and fingers at the same time; work from the base to the tip. Repeat this finger massage two times on each finger and on your thumb. Turn your hand over and rub tiny circles around each nail, making sure to massage all the way around each nail. Repeat the process on the other arm and wipe excess oil from both arms and hands using the hand towel. Louise Forrest has created the ultimate FREE Health & Beauty guide. Herbal Medicine for a Modern World

Anyone in the world
By Lucy Bartlett Using herbs to benefit from its medicinal or therapeutic value is commonly known as herbal medicine. Chemical substances contained in the herbal plants can be induced to act upon the body of the person consuming it. Humanity has known of this form of healthcare based on herbs since ancient times. History is replete with details of cultures benefiting from herbal medicines. It played a vital role in the progress of modern civilization. The early primitive men discovered that the herbs provide not only a cure but also food, shelter and clothing. Many of the common drugs used by us today are derived from herbs. According to various sources at least one basic ingredient from plant materials form part of some of the prescription drugs available in the United States. According to WHO World Health Organization nearly 80 percent of the worlds population or 4 billion people currently use some aspects of herbal medicine in their health care process. The common element in Native American Indian medicine, traditional oriental medicine, naturopathic, homeopathic and Ayurvedic medicines is herbal medicine. For more info visit www.med-advice.info Today, for the treatment of high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, pain, and other problems, a large proportion of commercial medications use substances derived from plants. To treat symptoms of asthma and other respiratory problems, Epedrine is used. This is an active ingredient in ephedra, a traditional Chinese herb. The foxglove plant is another example pointing towards the use of herbal extraction by modern medicine. The leaf from this plant is powdered to stimulate cardiac digitalis and provide relief to a large number of heart patients. Traditional Chinese Herbalism, Ayurvedic Herbalism and Western Herbalism are some of the various systems of herbal medicine prevalent today.
